STEM is a curriculum centered on the idea of educating people in four specialized fields - science, technology, engineering, and mathematics — in an academic and practical manner. STEM education equips students with skills that make them more productive and prepared to fulfill and solve existing world issues.
This camp is designed for rising 4th and 5th-grade students (current 3rd and 4th-grade students) to provide hands-on lab experiences while collaborating with other campers, High School science students, and instructors. Campers will have an opportunity to act like a scientist, think like a scientist, and communicate like a scientist. All activities will be aligned to the Georgia Standards of Excellence and will help prepare campers to be successful in their future scientific endeavors. By the end of camp, students will have increased knowledge in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Like real-world scientists, campers will have an opportunity to solve problems through hands-on inquiry-based learning. Campers will feel comfortable making mistakes because instructors will be there to guide them.
